On a recent holiday in Sri Lanka, we were graciously hosted by newly opened Pledge 3 boutique hotel in Negombo and following are our thoughts on this eclectic property. 

Pledge 3 is a fifteen minute drive away from the airport and makes a great base to rid yourself of jetlag or collect your thoughts regarding your holiday in Sri Lanka on your last night.

Nestled just a stone’s throw away from the beach and the Negombo tourist strip yet maintaining its exclusivity, Pledge 3 true to its name delivers on its promise of offering luxury and an intimate space for you and your better half.

Catering to couples, every facet of this hotel oozes romance, decadence and luxury.

This property captures you as you walk in its trendy minimalist design. High beams, wood flooring, polished cement walls and chic furniture. Keeping with the contemporary feel, the owners behind Pledge3 have taken great care in developing this flagship property and have been influenced greatly by their travels, so much so that the majority of the furnishing  here has been custom designed and brought in from Thailand and beyond.

Pledge3 offers its discerning clientele, six deluxe rooms and two spacious luxury attic suites.

Each room is styled around a different theme based on a Marilyn Monroe motif and comes complete with all the latest hotel amenities on par with a 5* boutique property.

If its rest and rejuvenation that you are after, why not take a dip in their salt water pool or settle in for a tan in their luxurious body curved pool deck chairs- pure tranquility. If it’s just a cup of coffee or a work station to catch up on your worldly happenings that you are after- we would highly recommend taking a seat by the edge of the pool or in the cement seating area of the retro pub.

Moving onto the food, well there is plenty of it here.  Crispy spring rolls to start you off and tangy tom yum goong, succulent Angus beef, divine lobster and homemade frozen yoghurt with a twist are just some of the gourmet delights that we tried here- we were impressed. The food here is fresh, seasoned to perfection and reasonably priced and we would say is the main highlight of a stay here.

This property is still in its infancy but its sure to become a resounding success, the staff here are friendly, eager to serve and have a wealth of experience collectively, they hail from some of the world’s leading five stars.
