The Tour [4 Days / 3 Nights]
Day 01 Delhi: Upon arrival at Delhi airport be driven to Delhi Safdarjung station. After a traditional welcome at the station complete your registration and join the Maharajas’ Express as the serenading sounds of the live instrumental music envelopes you all the way to your cabin. Enjoy dinner onboard in one of the two fine dining restaurants as the train makes its way to Agra.
Day 02 Agra: Spend the morning exploring the world famous UNESCO world heritage site of Taj Mahal (one of the Seven Wonders of the World), built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as the mausoleum for his favourite queen Mumtaz Mahal. Afterwards indulge in a champagne breakfast at an exclusive venue and then make your way back to the Maharajas’ Express on route experiencing the Pietra Dura Marble inlay work at display.
After a decadent lunch onboard, proceed on a tour of the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. This red sandstone city was built by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar as his capital in the late 16th century which is now an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the fascinating sights, comprising of imposing gateways, Halls of Private and Public audience, beautifully sculptured palaces with unique water bodies, reflecting a perfect blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. Afterwards return to the Maharajas’ Express for a
sumptuous dinner as the train makes its way to Jaipur.

Day 03 Jaipur: Arriving in beautiful Jaipur, the capital and the largest city of Rajasthan built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber in the 18th century. Jaipur is synonymous for its magnificent palaces, forts and temples, jewellery and blue pottery. After an early breakfast disembark to visit the Amber Fort. The Amber Fort, set in picturesque and rugged hills is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. The fort was made in red sand stone and white marble and is a classic and romantic ethereal fort-palace.

Should you wish not to visit the Amber Fort, you may choose to participate in one of the Optional Tours. Enjoy spa facilities at a five star hotel or proceed on a private shopping tour or enjoy Golfing at the Rambagh Golf Club or visit the Jantar Mantar. Return to the train for lunch. En-route witness the cutting and polishing of precious and semi-precious gems at a gem lapidary. As the sunsets visit the City Palace Museum after which an once in a lifetime experience awaits you – an Exhibition Elephant Polo Match, Your arrival at the Elephant Polo venue will be accompanied by the royal military band and the beating of ‘Nagadas’. You may choose to watch or participate in this exhibition game. After the match, enjoy a gala dinner at City Palace and afterwards make your way to the train for your last night on board the Maharajas’ Express.
Day 04 Delhi: Arriving back at Safdarjung railway station, after breakfast, checkout and say farewell to the Maharajas’ Express. Afterwards be driven to Delhi airport for your flight back home.
